Tour to Khor Virap-Areni-Noravak-Halidzor
Arrive at Khor Virap. The Khor Virap is an Armenian monastery located in the Ararat Valley in Armenia, near the border with Turkey, about 8 kilometers (5.0 mi) south of Artashat, Ararat Province, within the territory of ancient Artaxata. The monastery was host to a theological seminary and was once the residence of Armenian Catholicos. Walk around the Monastery with the guide.
Then we will visit Areni, a village in Vayots Dzor Province of Armenia. It is best known for its wine production. We will attend one of the various wineries, have an unforgettable excursion and also taste local wine.
After having delicious lunch we’ll visit Noravank. Noravank is a 13th-century Armenian monastery, located 122 km from Yerevan in a narrow gorge made by the Amaghu River, near the town of Yeghegnadzor, Armenia. The gorge is known for its tall, sheer, brick-red cliffs, directly across from the monastery.
Overnight in Harsandzor: a local unique-feature small hotel.
Go to Tatev monastery complex via the longest ropeway of the world: Tatever. Guided tour in Tatev. Hike down to Devil’s bridge. The Devil’s Bridge (Satani Kamurj) is one of the most gorgeous and marvelous natural miracles of Tatev region, located in the canyon of Vorotan river (also referred to as “Armenia’s magnificent canyon”) to the east of Tatev village in the depth of 700-800 meters. Being so deep, the gorge is so narrow that the sun rays hardly ever reach the bridge and the bottom. After having some interesting experience we will visit the local restaurant and have delicious lunch.
Return to Yerevan.
