ARMENIA IS GREAT, TAVUSH IS EXCEPTIONAL!

You are warmly invited to the spiritual and cultural Week of Haghartsin (Haghartsin Week)! This event is aimed to showcase the Haghartsin Monastery’s (X-XII AD) rich spiritual legacy and its special role in Armenian history and culture.

The Haghartsin Week is a 7-day-and-night long celebration that will take place in the premises of the Haghartsin monastery and will embrace a series of cultural, educational and entertaining events such as open-air master classes on national arts, traditional bread-baking, sweet-making and local food-cooking demonstrations, national Armenian dance lessons, spiritual music concerts. To enhance your spiritual experiences the week will be complemented by services, liturgies and Bible studies.

 

 

For a week the Haghartsin Monastery will become a living city where everyone is welcome to be a part of its big family.

Here is the agenda of Cultural Week.

August 7 /Monday, day 1/

Solemn Opening of the Haghartsin Week

18:00 – Opening ceremony: Inserting the St. Mary’s historical relief sculpture of Haghartsin

18:30 – Concert: Armenian State Chamber Choir, artistic director – Robert Mlqeyan

 

August 8 /Tuesday, day 2/

Do you not know that you are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3.16)

And I tell you on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

11:00 – 18:00 – Masterclasses: pottery, carpetmaking, organic soap-making, cross stone carving workshop, iconography, silk painting Kitchen: local food making demonstrations and tasting: milk bread, nazuk, rosehip, cornel soups, jams, honey Armenian folk dance lessons
